The application form for students (ages 15-18) interested in competing for the honor of being the 2014 Harvest and Herb Fest' Queen is now on the Icon.

The application asks potential candidates three questions:

1 - If you were to support a special cause or offer to volunteer for a special organization, which would it be and why?

2 - Describe three characteristics that make you who and what you are today.

3 - What would it mean to you personally and for the Ada community to represent the Harvest and Herb Festival as queen?

Icon invites viewers to submit sports stories

The Ada Icon invites Ada sports fans to contact us if you are interested in contributing stories to the Icon about Ada High School and Junior High sports teams (we already have varsity football covered!).

There's no pay involved, but we can provide press passes to get you into games free. If you are interested in more information, please contact [email protected].

The Icon also welcomes persons who take photos at games to send them to us.

Hootenannies 4-H Club gearing up for the fair

The Hardin Co. Hootenannies are gearing up for the fair. Our last meeting was held at Megan Williams farm when we got our entry forms filled out to turn in to show at the fair. President Megan opened the meeting and asked Landyn Hijma to lead the American pledge and Sean Hurley to lead us in the 4-H pledge.

Parent Amy Williams is making plans for the fair booth and will let us know what we will need for it at our next meeting. Parent Ernie Davis announced if anyone wanted another t-shirt or an extra for a parent, they could still order them soon for the fair.
