Clients of Not an Ordinary Place who come to the Ada Public Library to participate in regular activities with Officer Penny Keller-Clark gifted the Ada Council and Mayor with handmade name tags and this stylized version of the Village of Ada logo. Not an Ordinary Place provides developmental disability services and is based in Dunkirk.
COLUMBUS GROVE – The Ada High School girls soccer team lost at tough Columbus Grove 6-0 in Div. V first round sectional tournament play Tuesday evening, October 15.
The defeat ended fifth seed Ada’s season with a very solid record of 10-8.
With the win, Northwest Conference champion Grove improved its record to 15-1-2.
Second-seeded CG advances to the semifinals Monday, Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. in Bluffton vs. tough Mansfield Christian (13-1-2). Third seed MC shut out Ashland Crestview 7-0 in their district quarterfinal match Tuesday.

We are seeking the community's assistance in identifying the two males pictured. The two males are wanted in connection with a theft that occurred within the Village of Ada in September of this year.

The October 15 regular meeting of the Village of Ada Council advanced legislation on three items including discussion on whether to require photo badges and background checks for individuals who are soliciting door to door. The public is invited to a special viewing of a bright comet.. This event begins a little earlier than usual in order to catch the comet before it sets in the west.
Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) should have a total magnitude brighter than Polaris, but its light is spread out over a nucleus, coma and long tail which extends about 8 degrees, so it may be difficult to find without help.
Eurella Georgianna Scott, age 98, of Alger, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born in Harrod, Ohio on November 9, 1925, to the late Daniel and Idora (Christopher) Rex. On February 14, 1946, Eurella married Melvin L. “Sam” Scott and he preceded in death on May 8, 2005.
Eurella is survived by her three children: Paula K. Gieseler of Alger, Stephen P. (Judith) Scott of Alger and Pamela J. (Gary) Vest of Powell; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and five step grandchildren.
