April 1973 a vote described as cast “for the benefit of the children in the district” was one of five stands taken by Ada School Board members which signaled the district’s unanimous decision to join the newly formed Apollo Joint Vocational School District.
The vote, taken at a special Board meeting, came after voters in Elida, Bath, Shawnee and Wapakoneta approved a 2.25 mill, 10 year levy to construct, equip and maintain the JVS facility.
Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present New York City’s Ballets with a Twist, which will perform “Cocktail Hour: The Show” on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m.

Now that we have your attention: We'd like to announce that it's time for the Ada Public Library 4th Annual Chocolate Bake-off
The rules are this simple--there's only 1 rule:
Bake or make something that showcases chocolate as the main ingredient, and bring it to the Library on Wednesday, February 3rd, by 5:45p.m.
Local celebrity judges will decide who's mastered the art of chocolate and the winner will take home 1lb of Dietsch's Chocolates!
The event is FREE and open to all--come and enjoy sampling a variety of desserts!
