Blood shortage: Severe weather strains Red Cross blood supply

The American Red Cross continues to experience a national blood emergency as remnants of Hurricane Debby and other severe weather events across the country have further complicated efforts to rebuild the nation’s blood supply. 

Those in unaffected areas are urged to make an appointment to give now.

Ada Bulldog volleyball loses tri-match at Arlington

ARLINGTON – The Ada High School volleyball team dropped both matches of a non-league triangular event Saturday morning at Arlington with Hardin Northern.
The Bulldogs fell to the Red Devils in straight sets, and lost to the HN Polar Bears in three games to drop to 3-3 this season.

Arlington improved its record to 6-1, while Northern is 2-4.

First up, Ada lost to host Arlington by a 25-20, 25-21 count.

Bulldog senior Tess Griffith came up with seven digs and knocked down four kills. Classmate libero Jenna Bassitt hustled up 13 digs. 

Junior Anna Conley and sophomore Brooklyn Andreasen each hit four kills.

Ada Bulldog football wins big vs. Buckeye Central

ADA __ The Ada High School football team jumped ahead on the very first play and went on to a 42-0 romp over visiting Buckeye Central in the home season opener on a hot Friday night, August 30.

Senior Kaine Fisher returned the opening kickoff 85 yards to paydirt to score the first of his three touchdowns. Ada was in complete control all the way and led 35-0 at the half.

The Bulldog defense recorded its first shutout since a 28-0 win over Delphos Jefferson in week seven last year.
