Indian Lake area devastated by suspected tornado on March 14

Among tornado and severe thunderstorm activity in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky on Thursday, March 14, three deaths and devastating damage are reported from the Indian Lake area.
A joint statement with the Logan County EMA and Logan County Sheriff’s Office (3/15/2024 1909)
Search and rescue have been completed. We are beginning to move into the Recovery Phase with the help of select agencies. The area is still very dangerous. We urge caution to everyone. Damage assessments will begin [March 16] and we anticipate sharing that information once it is complete.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide extra patrol for the foreseeable future. Please, if you are not a resident and do not need to be in the area we ask that you avoid the area.
ABOUT THE TORNADO
On the morning of March 15, NBC4-TV of Columbus reported that Logan County EMA is asking Ohioans to avoid the area. Damage includes the destruction of a trailer park. Fires were caused by downed power lines. Initial reports note that there is damage in Lakeview, Midway, Orchard Island and Russells Point. Photos of the impact are available on the Columbus Dispatch.
Funnel clouds were seen in the area of State Route 235 and US 30. Damage to homes and barns has been reported in the area of County Road 12 and Township Road 29, near Jenera.
