Orville “Bud” Hicks, Jr. was a welder
Orville “Bud” Hicks, Jr., age 70, of Kenton, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 4:04 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on June 28, 1952, in Kenton, Ohio to the late Orville “Squirrelly” and Ethel (Prater) Hicks. On October 15, 1992, Bud married Nora Lamb and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are his two children: Brian Hicks of Kenton, and Heather Harshfield of Lakeview; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a sister, Norma Bailey of McGuffey.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Maretta “Rita” Crowe.
Bud worked as a journeyman maintenance welder for Rockwell-Arvin Meritor, Kenton. He was a 1970 graduate of Kenton High School. He grew up in the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with Rev. James Gatchell officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Kenton.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
