The Ada High School golf team finished 10th at the 11-team Div. III northwest sectional tournament Thursday, September 29, at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Arlington.
Carey nipped second-place Allen East (366-368) for the team sectional crown by two shots. Ada finished with 526 strokes.
Ada senior Geddes Klingler and junior Jack Baumgartner tied for team-best honors in 25th place. Klingler and Baumgartner each shot a 54-58=102 over 18 holes.
Freshman Sam Crawford came in 48th by carding a score of 77-75=152.
Ada freshman Jayden Shaffer finished 49th with a total of 88-82=170.
Junior Kobe Ratliff of Carey won the 50-player sectional title with a 40-41=81 score. Allen East freshman Levi Clum posted a 40-42=82 to finish second.
Sophomore Justin Thiel of Hardin Northern came in third with a 46-40=86. AE junior Jalen Johnson also finished seventh with a 91 to narrowly miss district qualification by one shot.
The top three teams and three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the district round next week.
