Daniel S. Guy was dean of ONU law college from 1978-1984

Daniel S. Guy, 93, of Willoughby, OH and a former resident of Ada, OH passed into eternal life on June 10, 2022. Born in Columbus, OH on July 12, 1928, Daniel was the son of the late Ralph Julian and the late Mary Elizabeth Guy. His wife of 50 years, Eleanor B. Guy, passed away on May 29, 2013. He is survived by his brother, Rolland B. Guy (Penny) of Marysville, OH; a son, Stanley L. Guy of Cleveland, OH; a daughter, Sharon E. Sealing, son-in-law, C. Scott Sealing, and two grandchildren Andrew & Julia, all of Clifton Park, NY.

A 1949 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Daniel received a law degree from Ohio Northern University in 1952. After serving in the U.S. Army, Daniel received advanced law degrees from the University of Michigan. In 1957, he became an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Ohio. He started teaching law at Ohio Northern University in 1959, which became his professional life passion. From 1978-1984, he served as the Dean of the Ohio Northern University College of Law. He then continued teaching there until his retirement.

Daniel married Eleanor in 1962, and they raised their family in Ada. He was a loving and selfless husband, father, and grandfather who was very involved with his church and community. He loved to listen to the opera, watch classic movies, travel, and spend time with his family. Being an avid reader, he could explain more history than the family encyclopedia set. Daniel will always be remembered for his lifelong optimism and kindness to all.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10:00-10:50 a.m. in the funeral home.

A Parlor Service with Rev. Dr. Scott Wright, officiating, will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Daniel’s name to the American Heart Association.
