AHS Class of 2022 awards and scholarships

It's a heady time for Ada High School seniors. They will wrap up their school days on Monday, May 23. Commencement for the Class of 2022 will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 in the high school gymnasium. And at the Senior Honor Awards ceremony on Monday, May 16, the highest performing students were celebrated with a dinner and the announcement of awards and scholarships.

Lauren Mullins, Kirsten Poling, Lucille Wall, Isaac Williams, Dexter Woods III and Molly Zimmerman earned the honor of Valedictorians, while Selena Gonzalez-Jordan was named Salutatorian.

VALEDICTORIANS

Lauren Mullins, daughter of Scott and Amy Mullins, plans to attend Stetson University in Florida to major in Biology. Her high school activities have included: soccer, track, band, choir, Language Club, National Honor Society, Film Club, youth group, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council president, junior class treasurer and various community service activities.

Mullins' awards include: Bluffton University Tuition Exchange Scholarship Ada Employees Scholarship, Honors Diploma.

Kirsten Poling, daughter of Kyle and Lori Poling, plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in Finance. Her high school activities have included: volleyball, basketball, student council, FFA, Language Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, choir, National Honor Society, Film Club, junior class president, Honda STEM award and various community service activities.

Poling's awards include: Ada Lions Club Scholarship, Ada Academic Boosters Scholarship, Ada Alumni Association Scholarship, Robert T Sperling Math Scholarship, Hardin County OSU Alumni Scholarship - Katrina Winzenried Endowment Ada Employees Scholarship, Honors Diploma.

Lucille Wall, daughter of Kory and Miranda Shepherd plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in Economics. Her high school activities have included: soccer, track, choir, marching band, pep band, Ada Mental Health Alliance, Language Club, Film Club, National Honor Society, Book Club and junior class secretary.

Wall's awards include: Ada Lions Club Scholarship, Ada Education Association Scholarship, Hardin County OSU Alumni Scholarship - Katrina Winzenried Endowment Ada Employees Scholarship, Honors Diploma

Isaac Williams, son of Jeff and Elise Williams, plans to do missionary service in Brazil with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His high school activities have included: soccer, track, Language Club, Quizbowl, National Honor Society, youth group, DOGS volunteer and various volunteer activities to assist with Habitat for Humanity.

Williams' awards include: Elks’ Teen of the Year, Ada Employees Scholarship, Honors Diploma.

Dexter Woods III, son of Melanie Caw Woods and Dexter Woods, Jr., plans to attend Kettering University in Michigan to major in Mechanical Engineering. His high school activities have included: tennis, golf, Quizbowl, Film Club, Language Club, Book Club, Varsity Singers, choir, Eagle Scout, senior class secretary, youth group and various volunteer activities.

Woods' awards include: Ada Academic Booster Scholarship, Ty Michael Memorial Scholarship, Ada Technologies Inc. Scholarship, Ohio Northern University Tuition Exchange Scholarship, Charles F. Kettering Endowment Fund Scholarship, Kettering Robotics Scholarship, Kettering Honors Program Scholarship, Kettering Presidential Scholarship.

Molly Zimmerman, daughter of Jake and June Zimmerman, plans to attend Ohio Northern University to major in Nursing. Her high school activities have included: cheerleading, student council, choir, volleyball, Film Club, Language Club, National Honor Society, Ada Mental Health Alliance, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, senior class vice president and various volunteer activities

Zimmerman's awards include: Ada Lions Club Scholarship, Ada Academic Boosters Scholarship, Ada HS Foundation Century Society Scholarship, Ada Employees Scholarship, Honors Diploma

Selena Gonzalez-Jordan, daughter of Jessica Gonzalez and Dustin Jordan, plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in Nursing. Her high school activities have included: volleyball, basketball, Film Club, FFA, Language Club, National Honor Society, student council, Ada Mental Health Alliance, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and various volunteer activities.

Timberlyn Blankenship, who plans to attend Ohio Northern University with an undecided major. Awards: Ada Employees Scholarship, Honors Diploma.

Olivia Conley, who plans to attend Ohio Northern University to major in Early Childhood Education. Awards: Ada Employees Scholarship.

Ashton Cowan, who plans to attend Bluffton University to major in Sports Business Communications. Awards: Bluffton University Centennial Scholarship

Morgan Dirmeyer, who plans to attend The University of Findlay to major in Early Childhood Education. Awards include: Shawnee Optimist Scholarship, Ada Employees Scholarship.

Riley Ferguson, who plans to attend The Ohio State University, Lima Campus to major in Engineering Technology.
