Rossella Hassan, 78, of Ada passed away, February 4, 2022. She is survived by her husband Dwight, daughter Jodi and brother Roger Schick.
Preceding her in death are her parents Harold and Eloise (Spallinger) Schick and her brother Robert Schick.
She was a homemaker most of her life, she liked to call herself a domestic engineer but her favorite job outside of home was being a baker for Brinkman's Farm Market. Rose loved to crochet and spent many hours doing it while bird watching from her favorite chair. She was passionate about Walnut Grove Church's work with the Red Bird Mission and crocheted thousands of outfits for dolls that would be taken there. She also made many prayer shawls and receiving blankets for other church projects. When not doing her volunteer work (crocheting), she was busy crocheting gifts for others.
It didn't matter who you were, she happily created blankets, hats, or whatever she heard was needed for others. Rose also loved decorating for the holidays, every holiday inside and out. One Easter, her great nieces and nephews were coming for an egg hunt on the farm. As they drove up to their Aunt Rose's house, they saw a yard filled with giant eggs. The youngest nephew exclaimed, "this is gonna be the easiest egg hunt ever!"
She loved hosting family dinners and always made sure to add special touches to make each gathering special. Rose will be truly missed by her family and friends.
There will be a service for the immediate family held for Rose on Saturday February 12, 2022 at Grove Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Rosella to the Walnut Grove UMC. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting www.stoutcrates.com
