2024 Letters to Santa, part 2

Students in Miss Daniels' 3rd grade class at Ada Elementary School are writing to Santa Claus. The Icon will share these in several installments.

MT. BLANCHARD – The Ada High School wrestling team split a pair of dual matches against county rivals Wednesday, December 18.

Detective Eichman named 2024 APD Employee of the Year

Clayton Eichman has been awarded the 2024 Ada Police Department Employee of the Year. From APD Facebook: Since joining the department in 2023 Officer Eichman has proven himself to be a valuable member of our department and the Ada Community. In 2024 he was appointed to the position of Detective, Property Room Custodian and Village Code Enforcement Officer.

On November 22, 1995, Disney-Pixar released the animated film Toy Story. The music for the film was created by singer, songwriter, arranger, pianist, conductor and composer Randy Newman. Since the 1980s, Newman has written songs for 18 Disney films including the Toy Story series and Monsters, Inc. In 2007, Newman was named a Disney Legend.  

Ada-Liberty EMS trustees establish billing for some no-transport calls

The Ada-Liberty EMS has taken measures to help cover the expense of some calls for service that do not result in transport to a medical facility. In these cases, insurance cannot be billed. 

The board of trustees has also responded to Washington Township declining a service proposal. Orange Township has such an agreement with compensation for services provided by Ada-Liberty EMS.

Cathy Ann Hobensack worked for Proctor & Gamble

Cathy Ann Hobensack, age 73, of Harrod, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. 

She was born on June 21, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late James and Helen (Greiser) Marshall. On May 21, 1976 Cathy married Anthony “Tony” Hobensack and he survives in Harrod.  

Cathy is also survived by her three children: Joe Hobensack of Bluffton, Jeffrey C. (Nikki) Hobensack of Columbus and Lindsey (Mike) Capps of Lima; six grandchildren: Olivia, Avery, Marshall, Wyatt, Jackson and Calvin; a brother, Steve (Jan) Marshall; and sister and best friend, Judy (Kevin) Roberson.
