Ada girl kickers rally to tie AE; Marshall scores 3

The visiting Ada girls soccer team rallied late to tie backyard rival Allen East 3-3 in the Northwest Conference lidlifter Monday evening, August 30.

Ada ran its record to 2-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in NWC play with the tie. The Lady Mustangs are 0-0-1 after their first match.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 2-1 at halftime, and AE extended their lead to 3-1 before Ada rallied down the stretch.

But then Bulldog sophomore Ella Marshall netted two penalty kick goals in the final 15 minutes to tie the match.

Marshall authored a hat trick, scoring all three Ada goals.

Bulldog boys edged by MC

The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team lost 2-1 at Miller City in a non-conference match Wednesday night, September 1.

The Bulldog record fell to 2-1-2 after their first defeat, while MC improved to 3-2 with the win.

Tyler Jameson netted the Ada goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Colton Long made six saves.

Ada won a half JV game 1-0 on a Clayton McClain goal, assisted by Logan Jolliff.

The Bulldogs are idle until Thursday, Sept. 9 at home vs. NCOSA foe Liberty-Benton (3-0).

Bulldog boys tie AE in NWC opener

The visiting Ada boys soccer team tied backyard rival Allen East 3-3 in the Northwest Conference opener Monday night, August 30, at Goodwin Field.

The Bulldogs ran their record to 2-0-2 with the draw, while the Mustangs start out 0-0-1. 

The nightcap game of the girls/boys Ada at AE varsity doubleheader was delayed for a time by weather.

Ada freshman Logan Jolliff netted two goals to lead the Bulldog offense.

Junior Carter Conley scored one goal and passed out one assist. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Colton Long was credited with nine saves.

Ada plays at Miller City (2-2) Wednesday, September 1. 

Weekend Doctor: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

Complex regional pain syndrome, or CRPS, is a chronic pain condition that most often affects one of the limbs (arms, legs, hands, or feet). Commonly following injury or trauma to a limb, CRPS is believed to be caused by the damaging or malfunctioning of the peripheral and central nervous systems.

The central and peripheral nervous systems are composed of the brain and spinal cord. Janet C. Fisher worked at Hal & Jean’s Restaurant of Ada

Janet C. Fisher, age 63, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 8:58 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on March 2, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to the late Willard R. “Spike” and Mary Ellen (McCafferty) Fisher.

Janet previously worked at the former Hal & Jean’s Restaurant of Ada as a dishwasher. She was a member of the Riley Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon (Howard) Lawrence of Alger; and several nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William D. “Bill” Fisher on October 16, 1989.
