The visiting Ada girls soccer team rallied late to tie backyard rival Allen East 3-3 in the Northwest Conference lidlifter Monday evening, August 30.
Ada ran its record to 2-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in NWC play with the tie. The Lady Mustangs are 0-0-1 after their first match.
The Lady Bulldogs trailed 2-1 at halftime, and AE extended their lead to 3-1 before Ada rallied down the stretch.
But then Bulldog sophomore Ella Marshall netted two penalty kick goals in the final 15 minutes to tie the match.
Marshall authored a hat trick, scoring all three Ada goals.
"I can't fault the effort tonight," said Bulldog second-year head coach A.J. Wahlie. "It takes a special group to come back from 3-1 down late in a match to get a result. We will take the point and keep marching forward."
The Ada girls are now idle until they play at Liberty-Benton (3-1) Wednesday night, September 8 in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener.
The Lady Bulldog kickers then play at Upper Sandusky (2-1) in another NCOSA battle Saturday evening, Sept. 11.
