Apollo Career Center board meets May 26

The Apollo Career Center May board meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Apollo's Board room.

The career center is located at 3325 Shawnee Rd., Lima.

Not long after Russian forces invaded Ukraine, a contingent of Ohio Northern University students studying the history of the world wars traveled to northern France and Belgium. Their 10-day spring break trip provided them with greater perspective on how military battles have a lasting impact on the local populace and landscapes and how current conflicts can echo certain aspects of wars waged long ago.

Agenda packet and approved minutes for April 2022

The Ada Exempted Village Schools board of education held a regular meeting on May 19. All board members were in attendance. Teachers from the Ada Schools were in attendance, filling all of the available chairs, to witness the approval of contracts for the next school year.

The Ada Exempted Village Schools have hired Tim Vernick as District Technology Coordinator and Sarah Phillips as a Kindergarten Teacher. They were introducted at the May 19 meeting of the board of education. 

Trinity Lutheran School graduation ceremonies, May 29

Trinity Lutheran School’s graduation will be held on Sunday, May 29 in the 10:30 a.m. service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main Street, Jenera.

Trenton Siefker will be the class speaker. The class members are: Izzabella Elizabeth Kretz, Abigail Kathryn Miles and Trenton Alexander Siefker. Class colors are orange and yellow and the class flower is the tulip.

The class motto is John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Emergency meeting called for May 23 by Ada Board of Education

The Ada Exempted Villages Schools Board of Education has scheduled an emergency meeting for 6 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 in the board room, 725 W. North Ave.

The Board will meet in a confidential executive session to consider: Preparing for, conducting, or reviewing negotiations or bargaining sessions with public  employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment.
