Mary A. Williams was a school bus driver

Mary A. Williams, age 84, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Blanchard Place in Kenton.

She was born on April 12, 1937 in Marysville, Ohio to the late Howard and Mary Josephine (Peppers) Evans. On June 19, 1955 Mary married Robert A. Williams, Jr., and he passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. 

Mary retired from Upper Scioto Valley Schools, where she drove bus for twenty years.  She was a member of the Alger First United Methodist Church. She helped found the Food Pantry and was involved in the Mission Program at the church.  Mary enjoyed sending out cards to encourage others, including birthday and anniversary cards, and did so for many years. She spent her entire life on a farm.   

            She is survived by four sons: Tom (Vanessa) Williams of Findlay, Charles (Denise) Williams of Alger, David (Karyn) Williams of Phoenix, AZ and John (Deb) Williams, II of Alger; a daughter, Diana (Wayne) Williams Peffer of Crystal Springs, FL; five grandchildren: John “Trey” (Courtney) Williams III, Spencer Williams, Hunter Williams, Sydney Williams and Tyler Williams; and two great grandchildren: Raelynn and Emmalynn; a brother, Tom (Janice Kay) Evans of Dunkirk; and a sister, Ann Allen of Columbus.

            Mary was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Edna Williams; and a sister, Janice Howard.

            It was her wish to be cremated.  A service will be held at a later date, with burial in Grove Cemetery, Kenton.

            In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 and/or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 106, Kenton, Ohio 43326 and/or the Mission Fund at the Alger First United Methodist Church, Drawer C, Alger, Ohio 45812.
