Ohio Northern University names Lehman its Robinson Young Alumni of the Yea

Ohio Northern University has named Ronda K. Lehman, a 1998 graduate of ONU’s Raabe College of Pharmacy and current vice president of operations at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, as the 2012 recipient of the William L. Robinson Young Alumni of the Year Award.

Lehman was honored prior to Ohio Northern’s Homecoming football game on Oct. 6.

Note: This is the first of two features introducing Ada Icon viewers to our two fall Icon interns. Alli Walbolt is a feature writer and Joelle George is a graphic artist.

Ada Icon viewers will see Alli Walbolt’s byline frequently this fall.

Alli, a sophomore at ONU, is from Rossford, near Toledo. She says that she first learned about Ohio Northern and Ada when her brother enrolled at ONU. He graduated in 2010 as an accounting major and today works in the finance department of Chrysler in Toledo.

Low temperature of the growing season reaches 33 degrees

The growing season has yet to end - it almost ended on Oct. 11 when the low temperature reached 33 degees. Here are the high temperatures, low temperatures and precipitation recorded in the past seven days.

Community pumpkin scavenger hunt planned Oct. 29

A community pumpkin scavenger hunt is on the Ada community calendar on Monday, Oct. 29. Persons of all ages are welcome to participate in this fun evening.

Participants will receive maps at the Ada Depot on Main Street at about 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. The scavenger hunters will look for the business involved to find the numbered pumpking at the location. 

When the maps are completed participants will bring them back to the Depot by 7:30 p.m.  Halloween snacks will be available while the drawing for prizes takes place.

Prior to the scavenger hunt, a Halloween parade starts at 5:30 p.m. near the Ada police station.
