NEW BREMEN - The Ada volleyball team defeated Lima Temple Christian over four sets Thursday evening in Div. IV sectional final action at New Bremen.
Ada rallied to win 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-15 and advance to the district semifinals. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-11 with the victory.
LTC fell to 14-10 with their season-ending defeat.
"It was a great win," said third-year Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "Both sides fought hard the entire match, and there were lots of long rallies."
Hustling senior Miranda Wills led the Bulldogs with 15 kills, 16 digs and four blocks.
Senior middle Megan Light also contributed 15 kills, three blocks and a pair of aces.
Versatile junior setter Kirsten Poling dished out 35 assists and also came up with a dozen digs, six kills and five blocks.
Senior Kylie Acheson hustled up a season-high 23 digs and also dealt a pair of aces. Sophomore Courtney Sumner mustered a season-best total of 24 digs.
Junior Selena Jordan also tallied a season-high four kills, and freshman Daicy Robinson came up with two blocks.
Wills also reportedly broke former standout libero Olivia Alexander's three-year old Ada volleyball program record for career digs.
Fifth-seeded Ada visits top-seeded defending state champion New Bremen (21-3) in the district semifinals Tuesday, October 27 at 5 p.m. The winner advances to the district finals Oct. 29.
The third-ranked Cardinals swept Ridgemont in their sectional final Thursday night. Powerhouse NB has won two of the last three Div. IV state titles, and finished as runner-up in the other year (2018).
MAC champion New Knoxville is the number two seed and faces league rival Minster, who is seeded third, in the other district semifinal at NB Oct. 27.
