Ada Chats return in a new format tonight: Ada Chats Online with two live virtual discussions at 5:30 p.m. Click here to access the live discussion at 5:30 p.m in a Zoom format.
Chat topics are “Benedict for Today,” and “Open Up to Open Access.”
• In honor of Open Access Week 2020, ONU librarians Heather Crozier and Chris Deems address the concept of Open Access, how it can benefit society, and what ONU is doing to support and encourage this method of publishing.
• David MacDonald, ONU chaplain, will address the Rule of St. Benedict. It offers one way to organize community honoring the balance between the sacred and the ordinary, values the work and effort of all, and prizes both stability and flexibility in relationships.
The talk will explore how the sixth century Rule can guide people in the 21st century navigating the complexities of family, community, and life in general.
Persons interested in participating in the live Q and A session tonight can view either or both videos on these subjects in advance of the live discussion.

Inspired by TED Talks - short snippets of someone's passions, shared ideas, knowledge made more accessible, Heterick Library, ONU, and Ada Public Library teamed up in 2016 to launch the series.
Tonight’s chat is the first since the covid-19 pandemic limited public gathers. And, it is virtual, meaning you can participate while at home.
