ADA - The Ada girls soccer team kicked off its 2020 campaign at home Saturday with a 2-0 loss vs. visiting Tiffin Columbian.

TC scored both goals in the first half, including one in the first two minutes. Then their second goal was netted with just nine seconds left before intermission.

"It was a tough loss," said new Lady Bulldog head coach A.J. Wahlie of his debut. "Ella Marshall, a freshman, had a fantastic game for us at center back.

"While it wasn't the result we wanted, it was a fantastic learning opportunity for our group," he noted. "We started four freshmen who really grew as the 80 minutes went on."

Junior Ada goalkeeper Olivia Green had a solid game in her debut, shutting TC out in the second half with the aid of the Bulldog defense.

"Olivia had some big-time saves in the second half to keep us in it," Wahlie said. "I'm really proud of the growth she has showed."

"We will continue to build as a team and press on to the next game," he added.

Ada (0-1) next plays Thursday, August 27 at Coldwater at 6 p.m.

The Ada boys soccer team lost its opener at Lima Senior Saturday, 4-2.
