Saturday board games at APL

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on September 25, the Ada Public Library will host Board Game Day. The featured game will be Wings of Glory WW I.

Sept. 29 community meal at St Mark's Lutheran Church

St Mark's Lutheran Church, 125 S. Johnson St. Ada, will serve a free community dinner from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29.

The menu includes meatloaf, cheesy potatoes, green beans, applesauce, and cookie. The meal is dine-in or carry out.

ONU young alumni awards 2021

Kevin J. Saghy, BA ’07, a social media specialist, and NASA engineer Courtney M. (Hetrick) Schkurko, BSEE ’13 will receive the 2021 William L. Robinson Young Alumni awards during ceremonies prior to ONU’s Oct. 2 Homecoming football game.

Ada golfers 7th at NWC tourney

The Ada golf team finished seventh at the nine-team Northwest Conference championship tournament Friday, September 25, at Moose Landing Country Club in Ottawa.

The NWC meet was postponed by rain and cold Thursday.

Lincolnview beat NWC regular season champ Allen East by 10 strokes, 338-348, to win the league tournament crown.

Bluffton was a close third (349), followed by Columbus Grove (367), Leipsic (368), Delphos Jefferson (385), Ada (411) and Crestview (417). Spencerville did not post a team score.

Junior Geddes Klingler led the Bulldogs with an 18-hole score of 50-52=102.

Community choir and music instruction opportunities

Noteworthy Community Choirs (NCC) and Vicki's Music Studio, 2613 SR 81, are accepting registrations through October 1, 2021. Opportunities include Early Childhood music classes and NCC choirs.

AE beats Ada spikers

Visiting Ada battled hard but was swept by backyard rival Allen East in a Northwest Conference volleyball clash Thursday evening, September 23.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in the NWC with the 25-17, 25-9, 25-23 defeat.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 10-3 and 2-1 in league play with the win. 

Ada junior Courtney Sumner hustled up 14 digs, served three aces and came up with two blocks.

Bulldog sophomore Daicy Robinson knocked down three kills and added three blocks. Sophomore Josie Phillips hustled up 10 digs. 

Sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out nine assists.
