Weekend Doctor Column: Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Have you started to notice something bulging at the opening of your vagina? Have you noticed changes with how your bladder functions or difficulty with intercourse? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you may be experiencing a very common problem called pelvic organ prolapse. Pelvic organ prolapse is basically a hernia of the pelvic organs to or beyond the vaginal walls. 

Sherrill R. Nichols worked for Metokote

Sherrill R. Nichols, age 73, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 8:23 PM at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on October 18, 1948, in Joplin, Missouri to the late Curly and Wanda (Parsons) Moore. On August 27, 1982, Sherrill married Phil Nichols and he survives in Ada.

Sherrill is also survived by her three children: Alicia Hogan of Miami, OK, Howard Hogan of Grove, OK, and Russ (Nichole) King of Lima; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a brother, John David Moore of Joplin, MO; and two sisters: Gale Goodman of Webster, NY, and Vicky Lake of Stanford, NC.

Sherrill worked for Metokote of Lima as a lab technician.

Fatal car fire occurred March 17 in Liberty Twp.

Statement issued 8:42 a.m. on March 18, 2022

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic crash that claimed the lives of 2 persons on Thursday evening, March 17, 2022.

At 5:38 p.m. Hardin County Central Dispatch received a report from a passerby of a vehicle off the road and fully engulfed in flames in a field on County Road 75 at County Road 30 in Liberty Township.

Upon their arrival, emergency responders were unable to gain access to the vehicle due to the intensity of the flames. Once the fire was extinguished, the two occupants of the vehicle were discovered to have perished. Their identity has not been released pending positive identification.

The Hardin County Historical Museums are seeking vendors for the August 13 Artisan & Craft Fair at Hardin County Heritage Farm, 14380 County Rd. 140, Kenton.

Booth fees are 1) outdoor 10 x 10 booth, $50 and 2) outdoor 10 x 20 booth, $80.
The artist is responsible for providing tent, tables and chairs for booth.

The Cask Room has same staff, new owners

CORRECTION: Friday hours of operation corrected

The Cask Room, 127 S. Main, has new proprietors, effective February 28, 2022. Denise D’Arca has purchased the business from founders Steve and Sue Bates.

The biggest change coming to the establishment will be the addition of a menu featuring chicken wings and sandwiches once the food license is issued. D’Arca notes that the atmosphere and staff will stay the same. Her husband and son will assist with bookkeeping and menu, while daughter-in-law Eliza Keller is behind the bar.

Track practice at War Memorial Stadium

Baseball, softball, soccer and track were all on view at the Ada Village Park this week. Thursday's weather was sunny and possibly perfect.
