Bulldog spikers look much improved in 2022

The Ada High School varsity volleyball team enters its fifth season under head coach Kyleigh Woodruff looking for big improvement as they continue to rebuild this fall.

Last fall, an inexperienced Lady Bulldog squad finished 2-19 overall (0-8 NWC) to finish last in the league. 

Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame banquet tickets on sale

The 2022 Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held at Upper Scioto Valley High School on Saturday, September 10, 2022.  

Tickets are now on sale for $20.00 each and are available for purchase at both Quest Kenton locations as well as Quest in Ada.

No tickets will be sold at the door and tickets are on a first come first serve basis.

Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. wil dinner at 6:00 p.m. and induction ceremonies to follow.

Badertscher wins Ohio achievement award 

HARDIN COUNTY–Mark Badertscher was selected as one of two Ohio Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension  Educators to be recognized for the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) Achievement  Award. The NACAA Achievement Award recognizes Extension Educators with less than ten years in the profession.  The award was presented at the 2022 NACAA Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference held in  West Palm Beach, Florida July 18-21. 

McGuffey movie moved to Saturday (CANCELLED)

Family Outdoor Movie Night in McGuffey is Saturday, August 20.

  • The movie Home Team starts at 9:15 p.m.

You'll find the audience gathering on the grass behind the community center. Free popcorn and drinks will be served.

Please bring your own lawn chairs or blanket.

The event is promoted by McGuffey Memories Historical Society.

Harvest & Herb Festival vendor deadline

Ada's 36th annual Harvest & Herb Festival and Parade is fast approaching. Ada Area Chamber of Commerce director Lindsay Walden reports that over 100 booths have been sold with many new vendors to appear at the show.

Vendors are encouraged to sign up by September 2 so that organizers will have plenty of time to assign booth locations.

Kiwanis Pedal Pull winners announced

The Ada Kiwanis has announced the following winners of the Pedal Pull competition at the 2022 Farmers & Merchants picnic on August 13.

A total of 38 contestants were interviewed and competed at the War Memorial Park bandshell.

Class 1 - 3-4 year olds - 8 contestants
