High school volunteers visiting Ada – need help?

On Saturday, June 8th, participants in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Foundation Seminar will be performing community service throughout the village.

The participants are high school sophomores and juniors from around the state, and they are attending the HOBY seminar being hosted on the campus of ONU that week.

The students are able to assist residents and organizations on that Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  To ensure that the day runs smoothly, residents are asked to contact the Village Office by May 31 to discuss project options and guidelines.

Ferguson Agency achieves Bronze Level Winner's Circle status with Wayne Insurance Group

Wayne Insurance Group has awarded Ferguson Agency a Bronze Level Winner's Circle Award.

Agents who achieve Bronze Level status have written more than $100,000 in insurance premiums with Wayne Insurance while attaining an excellent earned loss ratio (losses incurred for every $1 of earned premium) during the past three years.

Ada tractor pull Aug. 10 at F&M Picnic

Two tractor pulls are slated for Hardin County this summer. One is in Ada and the other in Kenton.

Farmers and Merchants Picnic Tractor Pull, Ada, is Saturday, Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m., and is an Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association Class B competition. Pulling divisions are: SS, 9 LT-LTD PS, SWFWD.

Hardin County Fair Pull, Kenton, is Sunday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m. and is an OSTPA Class B competition. Pulling divisisions are 9 LT-LTD PS, SMFWD, 10 PS, 75 MOD.

Red Cross offers ways to help those affected by the Oklahoma tornado

The American Red Cross of Hancock, Seneca and Wyandot Counties offers their thoughts and concern to everyone in Oklahoma following the horrific tornado early this week. We are working around the clock to provide food and shelter to all those whose lives were affected by these storms.

Red Cross disaster services volunteers and staff throughout the country are responding to the area, assessing damages, providing food and supplies to first responders, and support to the people affected by the storm.

Marilyn Creps, 1932 - 2013

Marilyn A. Creps, age 80, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:17 am at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

She was born on June 16, 1932 in Findlay, Ohio to Carl D. and Evelyn (Clapper) Gallant, they preceded her in death. On September 4, 1954 she married Gene E. Creps and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2002.

Marilyn retired after working for approximately 50 years at the Bluffton Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She later worked for the Allen County Sheriff's Jail. She was a member of the Riley Creek Baptist Church, Bluffton.

School is out this week. That means summer sports camps are next on the calendar for Ada High School athletes. Here’s the summer sports camp schedule:
