Polar Bears predicted to finished sixth in OAC football play

Ohio Northern was selected to finish sixth in both the coaches and media polls at the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference Football Media Day on Tuesday afternoon at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Polar Bears received 192 votes from 36 media members in attendance to finish sixth in the media poll and received 44 points in the coaches poll.

Coaches could not vote for their own team in their poll.

Mount Union was voted atop each poll, receiving 80 points and eight first place votes in the coaches poll and 353 points and 31 first place votes in the media poll.

When does your yard sale open?

It all starts Thursday! The annual Lincoln HighWay Buy-Way Yard Sale. Forty-three yard sales are officially registered with the Village of Ada. A story elsewhere on the page lists all the yard sale locations. In addition, other locations are listed in the Icon's classified page.

100th Farmers' and Merchants' Picnic comes to town on Friday

The coundown is on. It's hours away. It's the 100th anniversary of the Ada Farmers and Merchants Picnic. The two-day event at the War Memorial Park takes place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10.
