Pharmacy alumni recognized at OPA conference

 

Alumni from Ohio Northern University's Raabe College of Pharmacy received five awards and several appointments during the 136th Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) Annual Conference and Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio, from April 4-6.

Megan Williams elected president of Hootenannies 4-H Club

The second meeting of the Hardin Co Hootenannies was held at the Ag Credit meeting room in Kenton on State Route 309 W. Once again, we really appreciate Ag Credit for allowing us to meet in such a comfortable spot.

The meeting was called to order by past-president Laura Spradlin. Meadow Cromer led the American flag pledge and Miranda Holbrook led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was taken by Miranda with 13 previous members answering with their favorite color. We also welcomed one new member, Riley Fleece.

University presents 'All-American' wind orchestra program

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the "All-American Program," featuring the Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25.

The Village Voice: How will you celebrate Arbor Day?

All around the nation, Arbor Day will be celebrated this Friday, April 25th. According to the Arbor Day Foundation, an estimated one million trees were planted in Nebraska on the first Arbor Day in April 1872.

In their annual tradition, Ada Tree Commission is excited to visit with Ada 3rd graders on May 2nd to talk about Arbor Day and planting and caring for the trees around us. Mayor Davis Retterer once again has invited the students to be active artist participants in the celebration by drawing pictures of trees and creatures that attack trees.

Ada native Jake Mahr on ONU concrete canoe-steel bridge team

 

Ohio Northern University garnered three awards at the 2014 American Society of Civil Engineers’ regional concrete canoe and steel bridge competition held at the University of Detroit Mercy, March 28-30.

The Ohio Northern concrete canoe squad captured the best theme award and, as a team, placed third on design paper and second on oral presentation.
