Get 'em while they're fresh

If the Ada Flea Market doesn't have it, it doesn't exist. The Main Street Ada business even offers fresh vegetables and fruit. Here's some of last week's sidewalk specials. Gus Guthrie owns the Flea Market.

What a day for Ada! Harvest and Herb Festival is Saturday; also Wilson's garage sale

It’s a downtown festival in Ada on Saturday.

It’s the 29th anniversary Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival. Over 175 booths with offer items for sale, stretching from Quest Federal Credit Union on the north to the Disciples of Christ Church on the South.

Here’s what’s in store during the day:
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. booth display open
• 10 a.m. Main Street parade

James Coburn 1943-2014

James Coburn, 70, died on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 3:05 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

He was born on November 2, 1943 in Tip Top, Kentucky to Hager and Beatrice (Bailey) Coburn and they preceded him in death. On March 4, 1967 he married June A. Simon and she survives in Ada.

James retired as a manager in the food service industry for different colleges and universities.

Michael Jones was retired from General Dynamics

Michael L. “Mike” Jones, 66, died Friday, September 12, 2014 at 3:40 p.m. at his residence in Kenton, Ohio.

He was born on October 26, 1947 in Lima, Ohio to Richard Sheldon and Edith Mae (Roberts) Jones. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Wapakoneta, Ohio. On March 22, 1974 he married Linda C. Spencer, who survives in Kenton, Ohio.

Michael was an engineer at General Dynamics and retired in 2007 after 29 years. He was a member of High Street Freewill Baptist Church, Ada. He was a graduate of Spencerville High School.
