Sugar Grove singpriation, cookie auction Dec. 14

Sugar Grove United Methodist Church invites Icon viewers to its Holiday Singspiration and Cookie Auction on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m.  

The evening iincludes singing your favorite holiday tunes and satisfy your sweet tooth with some delicious cookies. 

Proceeds from the cookie auction will benefit the church's mission.  All are welcome to attend. Sugar Grove UMC is located at 4549 State Route 81, east of Ada.

Merry on Main tonight - Santa, choirs, horse and wagon rides, Christmas lights turned on!

It's "Merry on Main" tonight in downtown Ada.

From 6 to 8 p.m. events take place at the Depot on Main, sponsored by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.

• Santa will meet youth of all ages in the Depot - he will arrive on a golf cart!
• Two home school choirs from Miss Vicki's Music Studio will perform during the event
• Horse and wagon rides will be provided
• Cookies and punch will be served
• Christmas lights and cutouts will be on the Depot lawn.

Shhhh! It's a silent auction

The third annual holiday auction is underway at the Ada Public Library. Here's one of the auction items donated from Wilson's of Ada.

Jerry Spradin was a 1969 Upper Scioto Valley grad

Jerry Spradlin,  63, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, at 10:49 a.m. at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, Ohio.

He was born on June 13, 1951, in Kenton, Ohio to William James and Ruth (Merritt) Spradlin who preceded him in death. On Oct.17, 1969 he married Ronda S. Combs and she survives in Lakeview.

He retired in 2006 after 20 years as an electrician from Airstream. He was a member of the Gospel group, Foot Prints. He was a 1969 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School.
