Bulldog boys soccer blanks Temple in lidlifter

The Ada High School boys soccer team kicked off its 2023 campaign under the lights with a dominant 5-0 win over non-conference foe Lima Temple Christian Friday night, August 11, at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada led 3-0 at the half, and the Bulldogs tacked on two late goals to put the somewhat chippy contest well out of reach.

SR 235 detour south of Alger begins August 28

State Route 235 between County Road 130 and Township Road MD, approximately three miles south of the village of Alger, will close on Monday, August 28, for approximately five days. ­

Bischoff named United Way honorary chair

The United Way of Hardin County has announced the 2023-2024 Honorary Champaign Chair is Joy Bischoff, President at OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital and OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital.

The United Way comments, "Joy has been an inspiring leader at OhioHealth since 2003. Most recently holding the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Marion General and Hardin Memorial Hospitals. During those years as a clinical leader, she gained knowledge and a passion for hospital operations which ultimately led her to a promotion in 2021 to president of Hardin Memorial Hospital.

Obituary for Robert Anthony Tidd

Robert Anthony Tidd, age 50, of Ada, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Lima Memorial Health System. 

He was born on October 1, 1972 in Lima, Ohio to Larry and Phyllis (Lawrence) Tidd and they survive in Ada.
