Ada girls soccer, unbeaten DSJ battle to draw

Bulldogs host Riverdale on September 7

The Ada High School girls soccer team tied visiting non-conference foe Delphos St. John’s 1-1 on a hot and steamy Tuesday evening, September 5, under the lights at War Memorial Stadium. 

Ada ran its record to 3-1-1 overall with the draw. DSJ stayed undefeated at 3-0-4 after the tie.

The September 5 regular meeting of the Village of Ada Council included discussions with Village Administrator Jamie Hall on council direction on Village procedures relating to sidewalk replacement and new sidewalk precision cutting repairs. Former police chief Michael Harnishfeger will be hired as a part-time officer.

Ohio Northern, Heidelberg partner on accelerated law degree

Heidelberg University and Ohio Northern University’s Claude W. Petit College of Law are partnering to accelerates entry into law school for Heidelberg undergrads.

The two universities convened on Ohio Northern’s campus to formalize an agreement that creates a 3+3 pathway to streamline the process for students to complete a bachelor’s degree at HU and pursue their Juris Doctor degree at ONU in six years, instead of the traditional seven.

Carcass Show of Champions

HARDIN COUNTY–Have you ever wondered how well the grand and reserve champion fair animals will grade out on the rail?  The 2023 Hardin County Fair Carcass Show of Champions will be held in-person at Jenkins Meats, 670 E. Marion Street, Mt. Victory on Monday, September 18 starting at 6:00 p.m.

ONU to host seminar on human trafficking responses

Ohio Northern University’s School of Social Sciences and Human Interaction, along with Hardin County Domestic Relations Court, are co-hosting “Identifying and Responding to Juvenile Victims of Human Trafficking Training,” a free seminar for regional criminal justice, social service and child-serving professionals.

The event will be Friday, Oct. 6 from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in ONU’s McIntosh Center Ballroom. The seminar will break from noon to 1 p.m.; attendees will have the opportunity to purchase lunch at the McIntosh Dining Hall or local restaurants. The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 29. Linda L. (Allen) Pedersen was a homemaker

Linda L. (Allen) Pedersen, age 79, of Lima and formerly of Ada, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.   

She was born on March 13, 1944, in Alger, Ohio to the late Adam and Marie (Nichols) Allen. On June 28, 1963, Linda married Russell T. “Pete” Pedersen, Jr. and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2023.
