Several ONU soccer players have all-regional honors

Ohio Northern sophomore midfielder Levi King (Indianapolis, Inc./North Central) was named First Team All-Great Lakes Region in men's soccer for 2019 in voting conducted by the United Soccer Coaches.

King is a two-time All-Region honoree after earning Third Team honors as a freshman in 2018.

He is also a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and was named the OAC Freshman of the Year last season. He was named First Team in 2019 and Second Team in 2018.

King has started all 42 games he has suited up for in his two seasons at ONU with 19 goals, 13 assists and 51 points to his name. His eight scores last season rank him third all-time for freshmen at Ohio Northern.

This season, King has nine goals, five assists and 23 points in 20 matches.

The Polar Bears finished the 2019 season 13-6-3 overall, were third in the OAC with a 5-3-1 record and participated in the NCAA III Tournament under interim head coach Chris Matejka.

Ohio Northern seniors Meagan Grierson (Dayton/Miamisburg) and Haley Moses (Mason) and juniors Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) and Sydney Leshnak (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) were named First Team All-Great Lakes Region in women's soccer for 2019 in voting conducted by the United Soccer Coaches.

Grierson is a four-time First Team All-OAC honoree and is the first goalkeeper in OAC history to win Goalkeeper of the Year four consecutive years. She has played and started in all 86 games of her ONU career. Grierson is first in program history with 43 shutouts and sixth all-time with 210 saves. She lays claim to a 67-13-6 career record and a school record 0.59 goals against average.

Fuller is a two-time, First-Team All-Region and three-time All-OAC selection. She was named First Team All-OAC each of the past two seasons and Second Team All-OAC her first season in Ada along with being named OAC Freshman of the Year. Fuller has appeared in all 66 matches of her career and started 62 of them. She has netted 48 goals which ties her for fourth all-time in school history. Her 20 goals scored in 2019 are the second most in a single season and the most since 1997. Fuller's 113 points ranks her sixth all-time in program history, while she has also chipped in 17 assists. 

Leshnak has won OAC Defender of the Year, All-OAC and All-Great Lakes Region two straights years. She was also named Honorable Mention All-OAC as a freshman. Leshnak has started all in all 67 games of her ONU career. She has logged eight goals, five assists and 21 points in her career. 

Moses is a two-time All-Great Lakes Region and three-time First Team All-OAC honoree. She was named Second Team All-OAC as a freshman. Moses also garnered the OAC Midfielder of the Year honor as a sophomore. She has started all 85 games of her ONU career. Moses has logged 11 goals, 20 assists and 42 points in her career. Her 20 assists tie her for ninth all-time in school history. 

Ohio Northern finished its 2019 season ranked No. 17 nationally with a 18-3-3 overall record, won the OAC Regular Season title with a 9-0-0 record, won the OAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA III Tournament Sweet 16 under 16th-year head coach Mark Batman.
