Ada Public Library is collecting school supplies and giving weekly prizes, as part of their summer program.
Here's how it works: bring in a new, packaged item from the Ada schools supply list (see below) and receive a ticket for the weekly prize drawing. These prize drawings will occur once a week, each Monday, for anyone who has donated school supplies.
The library encourages patrons to help by donating school supplies, said Natalie Walton, youth librarian. "There's no limit to the number of items you can donate," said Walton. "Everything we collect, we give to Restore Community Center, and they will distribute the items to locals in need, as part of their Back to School bash."
Some of the prizes include $100 gift card to Wal-Mart, 5-pound bag of M&Ms, the entire set of Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, and the grand prize: four tickets to King's Island theme park. All these prizes have been donated to the library by area businesses and monetary donations.
The prize drawings take place each Monday morning, for the previous week's entries.
This coming Monday, June 24 will be the $100 gift card to Wal-Mart.
The next drawing on Monday, July 1 will be giving away four tickets to King's Island theme park. 5 lb bag of M&M
