Neither ice, snow, rain or school cancellation affects the event

Jon Umpress assures Icon viewers that neither ice, snow, rain or school cancellation will affect the he Ada Kiwanis Club  spaghetti dinner.

"The dinner will take place today (Thursday, Nov. 15) as planned," he told the Icon.

Serving is from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Ada High School cafeteria. Club members will serve all-you-can spaghetti, salad, bread sticks and drinks. Cannoli will be available for an added cost. One may eat-in or carry-out.

Advance sale tickets are $7 each, with children under 10 free. Tickets at the door will be $8. Advance sale tickets are available from Kiwanis Club members.

Ice on the roadways

A two-hour ice delay turned into a school cancellation day today (Thursday, Nov. 15) for Ada and many area schools.

The two-hour delay was called at 5:44 a.m. The cancellation announcement was made at 7:41 a.m. At the time of this posting the temperature was 31 degrees with ice-covered roadways.

Pete Previte’s sauce will be featured at the Kiwanis Club spaghetti supper tonight. Pete—of Italian heritage, of ONU teaching fame, and of Bluffton restaurant fame—makes the sauce for the main course every year. And, he makes cannoli, too. Last year 338 people dined at the Kiwanis fundraiser to support youth activities in the community. Tickets will be available at the door. Serving is from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Ada Schools cafeteria.
