Sara Davis and Philip Gautier prepare for a Language Club lunch on Monday at Ada High School. Ms. Davis is now in her 10 year of teaching Spanish in Ada. Philip is a Rotary Club exchange student here this academic year from Saint Sulpice sur Risle, France. He knows French, of course, English, very well, German, somewhat, and is now studying Spanish. He pointed out that bread is an important part of meals in France. About 20 AHS students attend Language Club meetings.

Margaret A. “Marge” Sprehe, age 79, died on Monday, December 03, 2018 at 12:50 p.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

          She was born on November 24, 1939 in Blackpool Lancastshire England to the late Greg and Hilda (Green) Gregson.  On June 8, 1957 Marge married Wayne W.  Sprehe and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2003.

          Marge previously owned the Homestead Restaurant, Dunkirk and house mother for the Phi Kappa Theta and the Alpha Sig Houses on the Campus of Ohio Northern University, Ada.   She also worked as a home health aide.  She was a member of the Community Bible Church, Williamstown. 

Kevin Risner has a BS in Journalism and an MA in Theology. He is a native of Hardin County and serves as the Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention Program Coordinator for the Kenton-Hardin Health Department.

Substance Abuse and Connections

Here is an announcement of a new mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, from 1907. Information and sketch is provided by Leland Crouse.

May 1907 The Hardin County Mausoleum Company of Ada had plans and drawings for a new mausoleum at Woodlawn cemetery. The company is being promoted by W.H. Freund and J.E. Hesser. It was dedicated in June 1909. The mausoleum held 240 crypts and a 12-foot driveway through the center.
