It's an Icon "Weekend," with 13 pages of Bluffton-Ada events and photos

It’s an Icon Weekend. And, there’s lots going on.

The Icon’s 13-page weekend feature - CLICK HERE TO OPEN – offers a window to the events and activities in the Bluffton Icon and Ada Icon viewership areas from Saturday, June 25, through July 1.

Printed copies of "Weekend" are also available at the Bluffton Public Library, Common Grounds and Ada Public Library. Viewers intersted in receiving their own e-mailed copy may contact the Icon at [email protected]

Water! Who cares!

The water's cold, but it's loads of fun when you slip and slide at Ada War Memorial Park. ReStore sponsors a free pizza meal and water games at the park from noon to 1 p.m. each Friday all summer long. Everyone is welcome. (Monty Siekerman photo)

Ribbon cutting makes it official: Ada Family Medicine open for patients

The ribbon successfully cut in two.

That makes it official: Mercy Health – Ada Family Medicine is open for business even though a “soft” opening took place in late May.

The noon June 22 ribbon cutting ceremony allowed Ada officials to tour its newest building, meet the staff and representatives from St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Located in front of Vancrest of Ada on State Route 81, Ada Family Medicine’s lead physician is Dr. Jason Hageman, M.D.

He has been associated with St. Rita's for the past two years. He will share his time between Ada and St. Rita's.

The coffee was good and the conversation great

Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger termed Coffee with a Cop on Thursday a success.

There will be more informal chat sessions in various locations in the future, he said.

About 40 people stopped to talk with the officers at McDonald's, both local residents and people passing through town.

The art of the home brew

Ron Peterson combined his interest in chemistry and biochemistry with the art of making home brew.

He spoke at the Ada Public Library on Thursday evening, explaining the chemical process involved in making beer.
