By Monty Siekerman
Ada rain gauges have remained mostly empty for weeks.

There has been only 1.2 inches of rain in Ada during the past seven weeks, as evidenced by the corn and bean crops, brown lawns, and constant watering of gardens.

Relief is on the way, according to predictions. However, anticipated rains may put a damper on two major events in town this weekend: Highway Buy-Way and Farmers and Merchants Picnic.
