Vancrest Nursing Home held interviews all day on Tuesday for many positions.

The new facility has received all necessary approvals from state and federal agencies to admit more people.

Currently, there are 14 residents. Administrator Randy Cox expects that number to increase to 20 by the end of the week, thus the need for more employees in all areas.

Only two people were waiting for interviews when the hiring session began.

First day excitement and jitters

Students flood into Ada Schools on Tuesday morning, the first day of school for the 2016-2017 school year. Twenty minutes before the bell rang, traffic was backed up onto State Route 81, cars waiting in line to deposit kids at the door. One wonders if anyone rode the bus or walked to school on opening day. In any case, most all of those entering the building had smiles on their faces and excitement was in the air.
