Severe thunderstorm on the way

AEP meterologists said that a hot ridge over the Plains will expand east on Wednesday placing northwest Ohio in a favorable location for a severe thunderstorm squall line.

While some thunderstorms could develop tonight or early Wednesday morning these storms are not likely to produce severe weather.

A greater threat will develop as temperatures soar toward 90F on Wednesday creating extreme instability. Preliminary data suggests a disturbance moving out of the Upper Midwest could cause a squall line to develop.

The Inn at ONU holds summer solstice event

Area students receive BVHS nursing scholarships

The Blanchard Valley Health Foundation has awarded six area students nursing scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Gabrielle Evans has received the $500 Phyllis Zimber Endowed Scholarship, which was offered to any graduating high school student or adult pursuing a degree in nursing with a special interest in obstetrics. Evans is a student at Case Western Reserve University and is completing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

Summer reading kick-off big success and ready to get reptilian

They say it takes a village! The Ada Library had a great turnout for their Summer Reading Kick-Off on Saturday; in just 4 hours we had over 250 people stop by our Summer Kick-Off, and 195 people (Birth-Adult) sign-up for Summer Reading!

This is the first year we're including people of all ages and we were overwhelmed by the response and excitement of our patrons! Sign-up continues all throughout the program.

While there are events everyday Monday-Friday at the Library, some really exciting events on our near horizon are:

Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes Report

The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes held their 5th meeting on Mnday, June 3 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  Grant Hites brought the meeting to order with Paytin Pore leading the 4-h pledge and Grant Hites leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call included 47 members, 10 advisors, and 7 guests.

This meeting was the Quality Assurance meeting where all livestock members were present. Non-livestock members had a project study session. The focal point of this meeting was watering your animals.
