December 2024 land transfers in the Ada school district

The following three land transfers took place in the Ada Exempted Village School District in December 2024 as reported on the website of the Hardin County, Ohio auditor Michael T. Bacon  and Hancock County, Ohio auditor Charity Rauschenberg.

Kevin J. Clemons served in the U.S. Army

Kevin J. Clemons, age 61, of Ada, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by his family. 

He was born on July 24, 1963 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Arthur and Laura (Hurt) Clemons. Kevin married Janice Oestreich and she survives in Ada. 

Also surviving are his son, Kevin Clemons, II of Ada; three grandchildren: Colton Arthur Wheeler, Waylon Michael Clemons and Amelia Grace Clemons; three brothers: Bob (Wilma) Clemons, Jeff Clemons and Jeff Chancey; and two sisters: Sheila Dye and Helen (Ron) Shumaker. 

Obituary for Betty Jean Richardson

Betty Jean Richardson, age 99, of Ada, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. 

She was born on August 22, 1925 in Allen County, Ohio to the late Arnett and Ella (Helmick) Rose. On February 2, 1942 Jean married Paul E. Richardson and he preceded him in death on June 4, 2015.  

Jean is survived by her two children: Paul “Bud” (Mary) Richardson of Alger and Diana Rex of Harrod; daughter-in-law, Deborah Richardson of Harrod; one hundred-fifteen grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Richardson; son-in-law, Jon Rex; four great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister. 

Stay Away: PFAs and health

Elvis Presley released the song Stay Away in February of 1968 as part of the soundtrack for the movie Stay Away, Joe.  This song only hit number 67 on the top 100 hits in the United States. This was unusual for the King of Rock and Roll since he had 18 number one hits and 40 top ten songs during his career. 

Bee Home celebrates 1-year anniversary on January 3

Bee Home is marking its 1-year anniversary on Friday, January 3 with cookies by Marlene and free treats to celebrate.

The "new to you" home furnishings shop at 228 N Main St. is closed today, January 2 and opens at 12:00 p.m. on Friday; phone 419-788-9459.
