Commanding first-half lead dooms Bulldogs

Visiting Crestview built a commanding 44-point first half lead en route to a dominating 53-14 victory over the injury plagued Ada Bulldogs. Ada’s third consecutive conference loss drops them to 1-3 in the N.W.C. and 2-5 overall.
Ada’s lone first half score came early in the second quarter when junior quarterback Phillip Coulson connected with senior Brad Clum for an 84-yard touchdown. Junior Ty Miller added the successful extra point kick.
The second and final Bulldog score came with 8:23 left in the third quarter when sophomore Brandon Hull plunged in for a 7-yard touchdown. Miller would follow with another successful point after kick.
Crestview outgained the Bulldogs in total offense as the Knights amassed 429 yards to Ada’s 185. Crestview held a massive advantage on the ground, as the Knights rumbled for 269 yards to Ada’s 6.
Bulldog quarterback Phillip Coulson finished the game 10 of 18 for 156 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Brad Clum led the receivers with 2 grabs for 92 yards and a touchdown.
The Bulldogs take the long drive this Friday night to face conference foe Paulding. The Panthers (2-5, 2-2 N.W.C.) are coming off a 50-20 conference loss to Allen East. Paulding’s two wins have come against Delphos Jefferson and Bluffton. Game time is 7 p.m.
