Men's basketball uses hot start, stingy defense to defeat Baldwin Wallace 63-47

By Tim Glon

Ohio Northern used a 20-4 first half run to take control, then played solid defense in the second half to post a 63-47 men's basketball victory over Baldwin Wallace Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 8-10 on the season and are 4-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Yellow Jackets see their 10-game winning streak come to an end and are now 13-5, 8-3.

16 going once...going twice...heat wave coming

Actually, "no, thank you." The Ada McDonald's thermometer read 16 degrees on Wednesday. (The service station on North Main and 81 read 17 - but it didn't seem any warmer there.)

But, there's good news in the forecast. Depending upon which weather forecast you like, just like the stock market, the thermometer is on the rise.

We understand Friday's high will be 19, then we hit a hot streak: 25 predicted high on Saturday, 25 on Sunday, 28 on Monday - can you believe this - 37 on Tuesday, 46 on Wednesday.

Next thing you know we'll worry about the trees budding too early.
