The large Victorian home on Main Street that was recently renovated to become Easter House Bed and Breakfast is now for sale.
Amy Eddings and her husband Mark Hilan plan to move to the Cleveland where Amy has returned to the airwaves as the host of 90.3 WCPN ideastrean’s “Morning Edition.”
Mark and Amy bought the Queen Anne home at 508 N. Main in the fall of 2014. The three-story house became a bed and breakfast in 2016. The 3,000-square-foot home and property is listed for $299,000 by Century 21 Sunway Realty (Becky Reed, 419-634-0021).
The couple came to Ada from New York City where both had major spots on radio for many years. Mark was news editor for WINS while Amy was WNCY host of NPR “All Things Considered.” They pretty much had the city’s news and commentary wrapped up with tens of thousands of listeners.
While living in Ada the past three and a half years, Amy wrote news stories for the Ada Icon and Lima News, spoke at Lima Rotary and L.E.A.D., wrote a piece for the national magazine “Guideposts” about moving to Ada, even participated in “Dancing with the Stars” at the Freed Center. She was a member of the organizing committee for the inaugural football drop.
In the meantime, Mark saw to a lot of remodeling and renovation—the three-story house was painted, the kitchen updated, an apartment made above the three-car garage, bathrooms added, the third floor was turned into useable space, and landscaping was improved.
The couple’s BnB was named the Ada Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year in 2017. Also, they won the Emerging Business Division of the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs. Their home was even selected for the county’s Candy Cane Tour.
Although the For Sale sign isn’t posted in the yard yet, more details about the house can be found at Century21.com.
