Visiting Crestview built a commanding 44-point first half lead en route to a dominating 53-14 victory over the injury plagued Ada Bulldogs. Ada’s third consecutive conference loss drops them to 1-3 in the N.W.C. and 2-5 overall.
Ada’s lone first half score came early in the second quarter when junior quarterback Phillip Coulson connected with senior Brad Clum for an 84-yard touchdown. Junior Ty Miller added the successful extra point kick.
ADA - Struggling Ada hopes to right the ship on their long trek to Paulding Friday to face an improved Panther squad as the Bulldogs kick off a season-ending three-game road swing.
Plagued by numerous injuries, Ada (2-5, 1-3 NWC) is 0-2 away from home this season, and has lost three straight games to top league opponents by a combined total of 141 points.
Paulding (2-5, 2-2 NWC) lost 50-20 at Allen East Friday night, snapping a two-game win streak after they suffered four losses to begin the season. The Panthers fell to Wayne Trace, Fairview, Antwerp and Columbus Grove by a combined score of 54-142 to start the year 0-4.
'Tis the season for pumpkins and pumpkin train rides.
Now through October 21, Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation on the north side of Findlay is running a family-friendly "pumpkin train' ride. Riders also have an opportunity to buy a pumpkin for seasonal decorating or maybe even baking a pie. Cotton candy and lemon shake-ups are also available to add to the festivities.
Richard Moed was among those riding the pumpkin train and taking home a pumpkin this weekend.

PAULDING - The visiting Ada boys soccer team won 3-0 at Paulding in a Northwest Conference match Saturday.
Ada improved to 7-5-1 overall and 2-1 in the NWC with the shutout victory by keeper Drew Hadley and the Bulldog defense. Paulding fell to 0-9 and 0-5 in the NWC with the defeat.
Ada hosts Upper Sandusky Thursday, October 11 in the regular season finale.
Drawing for sectional play will be held Sunday afternoon.
PAULDING - The visiting Ada girls soccer team crushed winless Paulding 8-0 behind a pair of hat tricks in a Northwest Conference mismatch Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the Northwest Conference with the lopsided road win. Paulding dropped to 0-10 and 0-4 in league action with the defeat.
Ada scored seven goals before halftime to put the game well out of reach early.
Bulldog juniors Katie Butterfield and Bella East each netted three goals to post hat tricks before intermission.
