Live stats and video will be available for fans Saturday afternoon, Dec. 15, as Team Stars & Stripes will battle a team of Mexican collegiate all-stars in the fourth annual Tazon de Estrellas fgootball game at 1 pm (EST) at Tec de Monterrey-Guadalajara's Fortazleza Azul (Blue Fortress).

The game will be shown live on ESPN2 Deportes throughout Latin America.

A total of 49 seniors representing 26 NCAA Division III schools arrived in Guadalajara on Sunday and will play the Mexican CONADEIP all-stars.

Senior Nate Bascom was named D3soccer.com Forward of the Year in voting conducted by D3soccer.com, sports information directors and coaches.

Bascom was also named to the First Team.

Senior midfielder Chris Matejka was chosen to the Third Team.

Bascom posted a record breaking season, notching 18 assists and 54 points, both new school records.

He also scored 18 goals on the season and was Capital One Academic All-American of the Year.

Bascom concludes his career as ONU's all time points leader with 155 and all-time assists leader with 43.

Although it peaked on Thursday night, you will still have many opportunites to see several shooting stars tonight, Friday, Dec. 14, into Saturday.

The Geminid meteor shower is one of the best star shows of the year.  Icon veiwers can really take advantage of this tonight.

Many of us here in the northern hemisphere are likely more familiar with the annual Perseid meteor shower.   That takes place in the summer, when it is a lot easier to leave the house and find a nice open field or dark area to sit.

 

ArtSpace/Lima, Town Square in Lima, announces it's series of kids and adult classes for winter quarter 2013.  

Kids classes are designed for age 6 and up.

Kids classes include

  • Ceramics, taught by Anna Fisher
  • Abstract art, taught by Maia Fisher
  • Sculpture , taught by Andrea Scheckelhoff

Kids classes begin Saturday, Jan. 12 and run through Saturday, Feb. 9.
All kids classes are $50.00 and include all supplies.
