It is my honor to introduce to you Ada’s first girls’ basketball coach Sharon Pitts and her 1978 Ada girls basketball Class A state champions and Hardin County's first state championship team. This was the third girls’ state basketball team and there were three divisions!

The group meets at the Ada Public Library. The first meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 23, according to Amanda Bennett, library director.
The group meets in the library's front reading room and will be led by Sarah Crawford.
Junior Lauren Rife, junior Kelsi Wurm and sophomore Kristin Cellentani have been named Academic All-OAC in women's tennis in voting done by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be sophomore standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.
Rife, a biology/pre-med major, earns her second Academic All-OAC honor.
This season, she posted a 26-10 record and picked up her 100th career win on Apr. 27 against Muskingum.
Wurm went 13-2 in singles play on the season and was 4-3 in doubles, for an overall record of 17-5.
