Free hearing clinic at Community Health Professionals

A free hearing clinic will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m. at the Community Health Professionals building, 1200 South Main St., Ada.

The guest speaking will be Dr. Terri Shive, Doctor of Auditory Medicine.  The topic of the discussion will be common causes of hearing loss.

Here's a colorized postcard photo of the First Presbyterian Church. The postcard was mailed in 1919 and we assume the photo was earlier than that.

Here are some observations.

1 - Notice the horse and buggy on the right edge of the photo.
2 - Check out the catch basin in the street curb at the corner of the street.
3 - You can see the edge of a house across the street (east side of street) from the church
4 - Is that brick or a dirt Main Street?

Now, as you read the message on the back, notice the word "machine" for automobile.

Red Cross blood drive scheduled

A Red Cross blood drive is scheduled for Monday, March 18 from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.. in the Community Health Professionals Building, 1200 S. Main St., Ada.

The event is being hosted by Community Health Professionals and Ada Visiting Nurses. 

While walk-in donors are welcome, donors are encouraged to make appointments. To make an appointment, call 419-634-1333.

Author Vanessa Diffenbaugh featured speaker for 11th CommunityREAD

Author Vanessa Diffenbaugh will speak at Winebrenner Auditorium in Findlay on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m.  Tickets are available at the library’s check-out desk for $5 and at the door the evening of the presentation.

Her appearance is the feature event for the eleventh annual CommunityREAD.

CommunityREAD is a month-long community event that encourages reading and promotes the benefits of literacy. 

Originally created by the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, the administration of CommunityREAD was assumed by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library in 2012.
