Zac Dysert has his own "rookie" football card

CHECK THE BOTTOM OF THE STORY TO VIEW THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE CARD

Here's a first for Ada - our own player on a professional football rookie card.

Vicki Wolke was Ada's first resident to picked up the card at Wal-Mart, which shows Ada's own Zac Dysert. "You have to buy an entire pack of cards to make certain you get one with Zac in it. The 100-card pack costs $19.99," she said. Adding, "It was worth it."

The front of the card shows Dysert is a passing photo. The flip side reads:

There's a bit of Ada in the BGSU spring football game

By Don Traxler
Bowling Green State University Junior Wide Receiver Heath Jackson is still recovering from last fall's knee surgery and did not participate in spring practice and the cold Friday night spring game recently at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.

He expects to be ready to go full-steam-ahead in fall camp. With him is the Orange Team Honorary Coach BGSU Provost Rodney Rogers. Dr. Rogers, a Kenton High School and Ohio Northern University graduate and then ONU Business College faculty member and Ada resident, coached the Orange team to a 34-7 victory.

World Book Night offers some lucky Ada residents free reading material - thanks to the library

Representatives of the Ada Library will be walking around Ada downtown Tuesday between noon and 1 p.m. passing out free books to non-readers and people who don't enjoy reading, according to Amanda Bennett, director of the library.

It's all part of the 2013 World Book Night.

"We will be passing out 20 copies of Tina Fey's Bossypants (a funny autobiography of the actress' life) in the hopes of getting more adults interested in reading," said Bennett.  "The books are free because authors have foregone their royalties to make this possible, this is also possible through the generosity and hard work of many volunteers!"
