1973-74  Ada High School started a new era in girl’s basketball. After not having a girls team since 1955, coach Sharon Pitts led a team onto the floor. The team consisted of Bonnie Klingler, Terri Benham, Sheri Hepner, Terry Roberson, Lynn Coe, Diane Moore, Brenda Daugherty, Chris Dock, Sylvia Rex, Kathy Klingler, Becky Montgomery, Michelle Hubbell, Cathy Decker, Sue Fensler, Jeannie Wiley, Karen Boutwell, Barb Agin, Andrea Misler, Cathy Hower, Cheryl Hall, Barb Telles and Marie Searson. The team went 2 and 8.

Jan. 5,1974 interscholastic basketball for girls got underway at Ada High School when the first team in over 40 years took the floor.

The 20-girl team was coached by Mrs. Bob (Sharon) Pitts who is also a junior high English reading instructor.

After basketball and track were officially approved for the girls by the Ada Board of Education, basketball was quickly organized.

A 10-game schedule with nine area teams was set up with Perry, Crestview, Arlington, Upper Scioto Valley, Kenton, Liberty Benton, Arcadia, Allen East, and Bluffton.

Ada’s roster- seniors Chris Dock, Kathy Klingler, Andrea Miesler, Becky Montgomery-juniors Kathy Hower, Cheri Hepner- sophomores Cheryl Hall, Marie Searson, Barb Agin, Karen Boutwell, Teri Benham, Brenda Dougherty, Michelle Hubbell, Terry Roberson, Diane Moore-freshmen Sue Fensler, Sylvia Rex, Jeanie Wiley, Bonnie Klingler, and Barb Telles.
