ONU alum Givins at the South Pole

Lauren Givins, BS ’21, say she is sometimes reminded of the ONU "Tundra" while she experiences the cold of the South Pole. Givins is on an extended assignment at the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica. Recap of March 18 Ada Council meeting

The March 18 meeting of the Village Of Ada Council took place without councilors Sean Beck and Sheila Coressel, but was not short of a quorum. Lively conversations took place on the topics of utility aggregation, steps taken when water shut and turn on are followed by an inside leak, proposed regulations for transient vendors including food trucks, and the creation of a list of Ada landlords.

The Ada High School track and field teams feature 22 letter winners and many promising newcomers on a 51-person roster for spring 2025 under veteran head coach Tyler Craig.

More on March 14 fire calls in Hardin County

Answering the call!

These ladies had no idea what their shift was going to be like when they sat down at their consoles on Friday, March 14th, 2025.

They came on shift at 3pm that day and had a working ditch fire on Township Road 92 that started around noon. Several resources from the West side of the county were deployed to help control the blaze. 6 fire Departments and 2 EMS agencies assisted on this fire and it was contained and cleared just before 5pm.

Ada Schools Destination Imagination teams compete in Dayton

Destination Imagination teams from Ada Schools competed at the North West Ohio Regional Tournament at Sinclair Community College in Dayton on Saturday, March 8. The elementary team "Smarty Party" competed in the Scientific Challenge, "Worlds Beyond," elementary team "Candy Kids" competed in the Engineering Challenge, "High Wire Act" and the middle school team "ISS: Intergalactic Space Squad" competed in the Scientific Challenge, "Worlds Beyond.".
