Ohio Northern University Dicke College of Business Administration student John Kramer, a 2015 ONU graduate and current MPPA candidate from Springboro, Ohio, was a member of a four-person team that took top honors in the “Project Run With It” competition at the 2015 Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) conference last month in Milwaukee, Wis.
“Project Run With It” is an opportunity for BAP members from schools around the world to work together to solve a real client issue for a not-for-profit organization. A total of 72 BAP student representatives competed and comprised 18 teams of four members.
Representing ONU, Kramer led a four-person team, comprised of students from Louisiana Tech University, Bradley University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, that worked to provide a comprehensive solution to a Milwaukee not-for-profit organization, Meta House. All groups in the competition were given 36 hours to meet with the client and create a solution and a presentation for a panel of judges, which included the vice president of operations from Meta House, accounting faculty members and a representative from the CPA firm Moss Adams LLP.
Fellow ONU students Megan Walker, a 2015 ONU graduate and current MPPA candidate from Troy, Ohio, and Jacob Crowley, a senior accounting major from Wadsworth, Ohio, attended the conference. Matthew Phillips, assistant professor of accounting, and Anita Morgan, associate director of accounting, served as advisors.
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are more than 300 chapters on college and university campuses with more than 300,000 members initiated since BAP’s formation.
