Several significant items were on the recent Ada Kiwanis Club meeting agenda.
• Joe Ferguson presented a certificate of recognition from Hardin County 4-H Junior Fair Livestock Sale to the club. He noted that as part of a buyer’s group, the club supports 76 Jr. Fair projects for Ada youth. He presented a certificate to President John Berg for the club’s participation.
• Jon Umphress was awarded a certificate of recognition for his service to the club, especially for his service as Club Secretary-Treasurer from 1999-2009. It was noted that the club owes Jon a great debt for his superlative service.
• Ferguson also reported on the recently completed Harvest and Herb Festival bike raffle. Ruth Betts, from Alger, was the winner of the girl’s bike, which she presented to her granddaughter. Thaddeus Neely (grandson of Bruce and Sandy) was the winner of the boy’s bike. Despite the inclement weather, the project was deemed a success.
• Peter Previte reported plans are underway for the club’s annual spaghetti dinner which will be held at the Ada High School Cafeteria on Thursday October 22nd. Serving will be from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available from any Kiwanis member.
• The club will sponsor the annual Halloween Parade on Monday, October 26. Sign up will be at 5:30 p.m. and the parade will start at 6:00 p.m.
